Job summary

Mach Industries is seeking a Thermal Test Engineer to support development, qualification, and production of aerospace and defense systems. You will plan, develop, execute, and analyze thermal/environmental tests on components, subsystems, and systems, collaborating withMechanical, Thermal, Systems, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related field.
2+ years of experience in thermal testing, environmental testing, test engineering, or related aerospace/defense discipline.
Hands-on experience developing and executing engineering test procedures.
Experience with thermal chambers and/or thermal vacuum (TVAC) chambers.
Experience with thermal cycling and environmental qualification testing.
Experience with test instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, pressure transducers, and data acquisition systems.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, requirements, and test documentation.
Experience collecting, processing, analyzing, and presenting engineering test data.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience writing technical documentation, including test procedures and test reports.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute thermal and environmental test plans for aerospace and defense hardware.
Create detailed test procedures, instrumentation plans, test configurations, and readiness docs.
Plan and execute thermal cycling, TVAC, thermal soak, temperature/humidity tests per program needs.
Support qualification, acceptance, development, and verification testing across product lifecycle.
Configure environmental test chambers and related equipment.
Install, calibrate, and verify thermocouples, RTDs, pressure sensors, and other sensors.
Monitor test execution and ensure conditions stay within approved limits.
Collect and analyze test data to evaluate performance against requirements.
Troubleshoot test anomalies and instrument/chamber issues; conduct root-cause analysis.
Prepare comprehensive test reports, reviews, and failure investigations.
