Job summary

Bender CCP, Inc. in Vernon, CA is seeking a skilled Thermal Spray Technician to join our Operations team. This hands-on role will prepare industrial components and apply specialized coatings to restore dimensions and improve wear and corrosion resistance.

You will operate and maintain thermal spray equipment, monitor coating quality, read work orders and drawings, and document production activities. The ideal candidate has 1+ year in thermal spray or related manufacturing and a strong commitment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year in thermal spray or related manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read work orders and drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring tools and basic shop math.
• Detail-oriented with strong safety and quality focus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare components by cleaning, masking, plugging, and grit blasting.
• Set up and operate thermal spray equipment (HVOF, plasma, flame, wire arc).
• Apply metallic, ceramic, carbide, and other coatings.
• Monitor equipment and coating application to meet specifications.
• Measure coating thickness and dimensions with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
• Inspect finished coatings and identify defects.
• Perform finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning as needed.
• Complete production and inspection documentation.
• Perform basic equipment cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Bender CCP is looking for a skilled Thermal Spray Technician to join our Operations team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll prepare industrial components and apply specialized coatings that help restore dimensions and improve wear and corrosion resistance.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare components through cleaning, masking, plugging, and grit blasting.
• Set up and operate thermal spray equipment, including HVOF, plasma, flame, and wire arc spray.
• Apply metallic, ceramic, carbide, and other engineered coatings.
• Monitor equipment settings and coating application to meet specifications.
• Measure coating thickness and component dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools.
• Inspect finished coatings and identify defects or quality issues.
• Perform finishing, blending, polishing, and cleaning as needed.
• Complete production and inspection documentation.
• Perform basic equipment cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of experience in thermal spray, industrial coating, metal finishing, machining, welding, or a related manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with thermal spray processes is a plus.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, and instructions.
• Comfortable using precision measuring tools.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and shop math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Dependable and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts when needed.
