Qualified candidates will have at least one year of thermal spray experience with Plasma or HVOF equipment; metallurgy background is a plus. Citizenship is required for this position due to security-sensitive projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program flame/thermal spray equipment (Plasma, HVOF, Twin Wire Arc) to apply coatings per work instructions and quality standards.
• Prepare parts for thermal spray via masking, grit blasting, setup, and post-process unmasking.
• Monitor process parameters and maintain records to meet production schedules and specs.
• Perform routine inspections of coated parts and verify quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance to keep operations running.
• Follow safety protocols for handling paints, chemicals, and PPE in the shop.

Techmetals, a 58-year industry leader experiencing continued growth, is seeking a skilled Thermal Spray Technician to join their team in Dayton, OH.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and program flame/thermal spray equipment, including Plasma, HVOF, and Twin Wire Arc systems, to apply coatings according to work instructions and quality standards.
• Prepare parts for thermal spray processes by performing masking, grit blasting, setup, and post-process unmasking tasks.
• Monitor process parameters and maintain detailed records to ensure adherence to production schedules and customer specifications.
• Perform routine inspection of coated parts, identifying defects and ensuring conformance to quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance to support smooth and efficient thermal spray operations.
• Follow all safety protocols for handling paints, chemicals, and protective equipment within the shop environment.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support production goals and continuous process improvement.
