Job summary

CoolIT, an Ecolab company, seeks a Thermal Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and validate liquid cooling solutions for high-performance electronics. You will lead concept-to-production activities, perform thermal and structural analyses, and collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product integration.

The role involves travel to Bay Area customer sites, occasional Calgary training, remote work when not on-site, and a strong emphasis on manufacturability,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing mass-produced mechanical components and assemblies.
• Strong GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanism design skills.
• Proficient in CAD/Simulation tools (SolidWorks) for production-ready models.
• Experience with DFMEA, FEA, DFM, PLM, testing and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop thermal-mechanical products focusing on performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
• Lead product development from concept through production with design studies, prototypes, verification and production release.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation per standards and GD&T.
• Perform thermal, fluid, structural analyses and lab testing to validate designs and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and enable integration.
• Provide on-site technical support, participate in design reviews, and drive issue resolution.
