Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Machine Operator (thermal) to set up and run thermal processing equipment, including plasma and laser systems, to process stock material.

You will read blueprints, measure with calipers and micrometers, and ensure quality output. This role requires first-shift availability (6am–2pm) with overtime as needed and passing a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions with accuracy.
• Operate thermal processing equipment like plasma/laser systems.
• Use measuring tools (tape, calipers, micrometer) precisely.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a variety of thermal processing equipment; plasma, laser, etc.
• Read and interpret blueprints and following work instructions.
• Use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
• Convert fractions to decimals and vice versa, add and subtract fractions and decimals.
• Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
