Job summary

RTX in Tucson is seeking an early-career Thermal Engineer to join the MA&T Department. You will perform detailed thermal analyses across product lifecycles, from design trade studies to qualification testing, using hand calculations and finite element tools.

Collaborate with experienced analysts, prepare test plans, document results, and present findings to government customers while working onsite. A bachelor’s degree in STEM and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of experience, or an advanced degree substituted for 2 years experience.
• Experience in thermal analysis using FloTHERM, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or ANSYS or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and ensure hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Work with peers to ensure technical accuracy and meet schedule constraints.
• Present results to internal, external, and government customers.
• Document analysis work comprehensively for archival reference.
