Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a mid-level Senior Thermal Engineer to join the MA&T Department. You will perform detailed thermal analyses spanning design trade studies to production support, using hand calculations and finite element tools. The role requires collaboration with experienced analysts to deliver robust, validated results.

You will plan tests, reduce data, correlate models, and may lead analysis teams on complex programs. Some travel to government facilities is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced degree may substitute for experience
• Experience with thermal analysis tools (ANSYS, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA)
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher-detail analysis models
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses for program challenges
• Generate test plans for validation and hardware compliance
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models
• Lead analysis teams and review work for technical accuracy
• Present results to government customers
• Travel to government facilities as needed
• Document work for archival reference
