Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. in Orlando, FL, is seeking a Thermal Design Engineer to lead advanced heat transfer design for additive manufacturing within the North American team.

You will perform analytical and numerical modeling, integrate cooling technologies, and validate designs with CFD/FEA tools. A background in mechanical or aerospace engineering with 2+ years in heat transfer is required, with US employment authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related thermal science discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in heat transfer design, thermal analysis or fluid dynamics, preferably in turbomachinery or energy.
• Experience with additive manufacturing design constraints and advanced thermal simulation tools.
• Experience with conduction, convection and radiation heat transfer analyses and CFD/FEA tools.
• Knowledge of DfAM, CAD software and thermal management system architecture.
• Experience with data analysis, technical writing and cross-functional R&D collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize advanced heat transfer components using additive manufacturing design principles to enhance thermal efficiency.
• Perform analytical and numerical thermal modeling on gas turbine or distributed energy components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cooling technologies and thermal barrier coatings.
• Set up and post-process CFD and finite element simulations to validate performance.
• Define test plans, instrument prototypes and analyze experimental data to validate models.
• Identify thermal risks and implement design mitigations.
• Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation for product certification and deployment.
• Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality and field operations.
