Job summary

Owens Corning seeks a Senior Thermal & Fluids Engineer to lead hands-on thermal and CFD modeling across high-temperature processes, including radiation and combustion. You will connect simulations to experimental data, guide design decisions, and drive cross-disciplinary collaboration with researchers, product teams, and manufacturing.

You will mentor engineers, stay current with advances in thermal sciences and multiphysics, and apply automation and data-driven methods to accelerate modeling

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in mechanical/chemical/aerospace engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience applying thermal and CFD modeling to complex problems.
• Experience taking CFD models from problem definition through validation to industrial decisions.
• Experience in radiation heat transfer, combustion, conjugate heat transfer, turbulent flow, and multiphase flow.
• Ability to validate simulations against experimental/operating data and communicate limitations clearly.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal and CFD modeling for high-temperature heat transfer, combustion, and transport problems.
• Develop and validate models using experimental and operating data; evaluate design and operating changes.
• Use DOE, optimization, ROMs, surrogate models to explore conditions.
• Mentor other engineers and translate results into practical recommendations.
• Communicate modeling approaches and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
