Job summary

Concentra in Tampa, FL is seeking a Physical Therapy Support Specialist (PTSS) to support the Center Therapy Director and Staff Therapists. You will manage referrals, schedule patients, assist with registration and check-out, and handle supply orders in a fast-paced clinic.

You will ensure accurate documentation, provide excellent patient experiences, and support back-office tasks as needed while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a welcoming environment for all patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least six months of referral management experience.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of state occupational medicine requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain timely authorizations for therapy treatments from clients and/or insurance carriers.
• Maintain records for all active referrals using the referral module.
• Process referrals according to state guidelines or client direction.
• Coordinate with medical and therapy leadership to ensure the medical model is followed for referrals.
• Report denials or delays to leadership as needed.
• Schedule authorized visits according to clinician referrals and limits.
• Contact patients about missed appointments and report to employer.
• Document cancelled or rescheduled appointments in the EMR.
