Job summary

Volunteers of America Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE (Eckert) seeks a Therapy Aide in Eckert, CO. This role supports the therapy department under the Lead Therapist in a compassionate, patient-centered setting.

The position is full-time, on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule (8am–5pm). Salary ranges from $20.50 to $24.50 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits and opportunities for growth within the VOANS family.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with frail or elderly population required.
  • Long-term care experience as Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine tasks related to the operation of the therapy department supervised by the Lead Therapist.
  • Assists with participant related activities as predetermined for each participant assigned.
  • Stock linens in the AM and manage laundry duties.
  • Monitor water levels in hot pack machine and paraffin bath, adjust as needed.
  • Change linens, wipe surfaces, and restore equipment after use.
  • Transport participants to therapy sessions and document daily progress.

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with a frail or elderly population required.
  • Long-term care experience as a Nursing Assistant is preferred.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Performs routine tasks related to the operation of the therapy department supervised by the Lead Therapist. Assists with participant related activities as predetermined for each participant assigned.

  • Stock linens in the AM and take soiled linens to the laundry in the PM.
  • Check the water levels in the hot pack machine and add water as needed.
  • Check Paraffin bath level and add as needed.
  • Change the linens on pillows and mat sheets after each participant use.
  • Wipe the surfaces of exercise equipment, railings and mat table after each use and at the end of the day.
  • Wipe down bedside tables, sink and countertops.
  • Restore all equipment to its appropriate place after it is used.
  • Organize closet as needed.
  • Empty all water glasses and discard after participant use.li>
  • Clear out all boxes and trash from the therapy areas.
  • Place all unused equipment in the shed.
  • Vacuum the rehab room and your office.
  • Fresh ice water in the AM for the participants.
  • Transport participants to their therapy sessions and groups.
  • Treat your assigned restorative participants.
  • Document daily on your restorative participants.
  • Put scheduled participants on the white board as well as meetings, groups.
  • Check temperature and log morning and afternoon of refrigerator temp in ADL apt.
  • Check and record hot pack temps and ice temps.
