Job summary

Balance Treatment Center in California seeks full-time Therapists to work a 30-hour week in our Intensive Outpatient Programs, serving adults, adolescents, children and families in group settings with some individual work.

Experience with group work and evidence-based approaches is preferred; evening shifts may be required; strong collaboration and contribution to treatment planning are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of clinical experience treating mental illness or substance use.
• Experience with group work; adolescents/children preferred.
• Training in evidence-based practices (DBT, ACT, EMDR, mindfulness) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the well-being of clients and the integrity of the program.
• Provide effective family, group and individual psychotherapy.
• Maintain knowledge of mental health, dual diagnosis, CBT, DBT, and family systems approach.
• Conduct assessments of clients at admission and as needed.
• Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on history, signs, and symptoms.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Consult with agency staff, caregivers and other professionals.
• Maintain all documentation in timely manner as required.
• Provide discharge planning for clients as required.
• Maintain knowledge of Balance Treatment Center mission and philosophy.
