Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services, and education to children, adolescents, and families in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. We are dedicated to addressing behavioral, emotional, and learning problems, offering a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

Position Summary:

At Applewood Centers, we recognize that early intervention with children and families is crucial for healthy emotional, social, and academic development. Our Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH) program serves children up to age 6 who experience overwhelming stress, trauma, behavioral difficulties, or other concerns affecting parenting or child care. We are hiring an Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Therapist to provide assessments, behavioral health counseling, and therapeutic services to these children and families.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Provide home and community-based behavioral health services for infants and children up to age 6 and their families.
2. Complete comprehensive behavioral assessments.
3. Build partnerships with parents, young children, and interdisciplinary teams to address early relationship and behavioral challenges.
4. Advocate on behalf of clients and their families.
5. Contribute to establishing a foundation for lifelong social and emotional well-being in young children.

Qualifications:

A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, along with an LSW, LPC, or MFT license, and prior experience delivering mental health services in home/community settings to children and families with complex needs is required. Training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is preferred. Candidates must be willing to travel to families and have evening availability. This position offers an independent, fast-paced environment with flexible hours and self-set schedules.
