Job summary

Parkwood Behavioral Health System in Desoto County, MS, is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, and discharge planning within a comprehensive inpatient and outpatient continuum.

You will participate in treatment team planning, crisis intervention, and liaison with referral sources, supporting adults, adolescents and children with behavioral health needs at Parkwood.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health or human services required.
• One year of psychiatric experience preferred.
• Licensure/certification preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT.
• CPR Certification required.
• Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy theory and practice, case management, group leadership, discharge planning, growth and development, crisis and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services including psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy; participate in treatment team planning; discharge planning and case management; crisis intervention and liaison with referral sources and internal departments.

Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

Therapist

Full-time

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Therapist will provide social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood. The Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning / case management, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the facility.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s Degree required in a health or human services field.

Experience:

One (1) year prior psychiatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.
