Job summary

Parkwood Behavioral Health System, a UHS facility in Desoto County, MS, is seeking a full-time Therapist. The role requires a Master’s degree in health or human services and licensure preferences (LMSW/LCSW/LPC/LMFT) with CPR certification.

Responsibilities include psychosocial assessments, individual/group/family therapy, treatment planning, discharge planning, and crisis intervention. Experience in psychiatry is preferred, and the candidate will collaborate across departments to ensure quality

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s Degree required in a health or human services field.
• Experience: One year psychiatric experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.
• CPR Certification required
• Knowledge: Therapy, case management, discharge planning and crisis management.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services in line with Parkwood's philosophy and objectives.
• Perform psychosocial assessments and individual, group and family therapy.
• Participate in treatment team planning and discharge planning/case management.
• Conduct crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and departments.

Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

Therapist

Full-time

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Therapist will provide social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood. The Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning / case management, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the facility.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s Degree required in a health or human services field.

Experience:

One (1) year prior psychiatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Knowledge:

Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy theory and practice, case management, group leadership skills, discharge planning, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
