Job summary

Parkwood Behavioral Health System, a Universal Health Services facility in Desoto County, MS, seeks a full-time Therapist to provide social work services, psychosocial assessments, and family therapy. Working hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.

– 5:00 p.m., with discharge planning and crisis intervention responsibilities across inpatient and outpatient programs. The role requires a Master’s Degree in health or human services, with at least 1 year of psychiatric experience preferred and

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in health or human services field.
• 1 year psychiatric experience preferred.
• Licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred; CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy, case management, crisis management.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services consistent with Parkwood's philosophy.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and individual, group, and family therapy.
• Participate in treatment team planning and discharge planning.
• Coordinate with referral sources and other departments; crisis intervention.

Parkwood Behavioral Health System provides behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region and has been in business since 1987. We are located in Desoto County, in the northwest corner of Mississippi and approximately 7 miles south of Memphis.

Therapist

Full-time

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m,.

The Therapist will provide social work services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood. The Therapist is responsible for psychosocial assessments, individual, group and family therapy, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning / case management, crisis intervention and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the facility.

Qualifications

Education

Master’s Degree required in a health or human services field.

Experience

One (1) year prior psychiatric experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification

LMSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT preferred.

CPR Certification required

Knowledge

Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy theory and practice, case management, group leadership skills, discharge planning, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
