Job summary

Bradley Hospital, a Brown University Health affiliate, is seeking a dedicated residential care counselor to ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for children in residence. You will contribute to the formulation and implementation of individualized residential care plans and document progress meticulously.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, maintaining incident and observation records, and participating in treatment planning with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Human Service field; higher education or experience may be substituted.
• Six months to one year of direct child care with emotionally impaired youth.
• Current Bradley Hospital Crisis Management certification or enrollment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current ERS, Safety & OSHA certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for assigned children.
• Develop and implement residential care plans for each child.
• Document observations and interactions in the child’s chart.
• Supervise children during daily activities and routines.
• Respond to crises with approved interventions and debrief afterward.
• Attend program meetings and participate in treatment planning.
