Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a residential care professional responsible for the care and safety of assigned children within a multidisciplinary treatment team. The role includes input into therapeutic residential plans, observation, and documentation under supervision.

The successful candidate will maintain crisis management, CPR, ERS, and OSHA certifications and contribute to developing and implementing individual care plans while collaborating with other staff and families.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field required; relevant experience may substitute.
• Six months to one year of direct child care experience with emotionally impaired youth preferred.
• Current Bradley Hospital Crisis Management certification or enrollment in Bradley Hospital course; CPR certification required or in process; ERS, Safety & OSHA certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Participates in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Develops and operationalizes the residential care plan for assigned children.
• Maintains and documents level of child observation per physician/Program Director.
• Supervises children in daily routines and assists with activities of daily living.
• Reports and resolves potential problems in the Program; follows crisis procedures and documents in the child’s chart.
• Intervenes in disruptive situations with timely therapeutic interventions.
• Contributes to program policies and attends program meetings as assigned.
• Maintains and updates certifications and participates in staff development.
