Job summary

Apple Rehab Farmington Valley in Connecticut is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Director to lead, plan, and oversee therapeutic recreation services for residents. The role emphasizes compliance with regulations and high-quality programs tailored to resident needs with community involvement.

Ideal candidates will have experience in rehabilitative or geriatric settings, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to coordinate diverse events and volunteering efforts while upholding residents’

Qualifications

• Must meet requirements of Therapeutic Recreation Director as stated in the Public Health Code.
• Must possess at least one year experience in a rehabilitative or geriatric setting.
• Must have a vehicle and a valid drivers’ license and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, control, and execute therapeutic recreational services for residents in compliance with regulations.
• Ensure the highest quality recreation programs are provided.
• Develop and implement a variety of therapeutic recreational programs tailored to residents' needs and interests.
• Coordinate religious days, social events, holidays, and celebrations in residents' calendars.
• Establish volunteer programs and intergenerational events with community support.
• Encourage resident participation in recreational activities suitable to their abilities.
• Uphold and comply with the Residents' Bill of Rights.
• Advise residents on rights and responsibilities through Resident Council.
• Maintain confidentiality in reporting Resident Council minutes and care plan issues.
• Promptly report resident grievances and complaints to supervisors.

Type:

Full-Time 40 hours

• Plan, control, and execute therapeutic recreational services for residents in compliance with regulations.
