Job summary

Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center is seeking a dedicated staff member to provide structured one-on-one interventions with youth and their families, helping them navigate social contexts and develop new skills.

You will supervise sessions, guide discussions on effective peer and adult interactions, and coach youth in problem-solving and conflict resolution, linking them to activities and treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• A current/valid non-expired driver's license with insurable driving record; must be 21+.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and typing.

Responsibilities

• Provide structured one-on-one interventions to youth and families.

Job description

To provide structured one-on-one interventions to youth and their families that are designed to ameliorate behavioral health-related conditions that prevent age-appropriate social functioning. Help ensure the youth's success in navigating various social contexts, learning new skills, and making functional progress. Offer supervision of these interactions and engage the youth in discussions about strategies for effective handling of peer and adult interactions. Support, coach, and train the youth in age-appropriate behaviors. Train, coach, and support the youth to demonstrate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Provide linkages to recreational and social activities. Provide interventions and support to achieve established treatment goals that are assigned as part of an integrated service team for youth. This position will be discussed in more depth during the interview.

Pay Rate: $12.00/hr

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
• A current/valid non-expired driver's license. This position requires driving; you must be a minimum age of 21 and have an insurable driving record
• Knowledge of computer software and programs, Word, Excel, Outlook and typing.
• Employment requires a 5 day paid orientation held in Marion County, AL, Monday-Friday, 8:30a-4p.

Schedule: Must have some flexibility to accommodate the client and their families' schedule. The schedule will be discussed further during the interview.

• Full-time Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
• Part-time position is also available
