Northwest Alabama Mental Health Center is seeking a School Based Mental Health Therapist to counsel children and groups, develop and implement therapeutic plans, and provide family support within Walker County Schools, Alabama. The schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a 5-day orientation in Marion County.
Requirements include a master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work with internship and at least 6 months of child/adolescent experience, a valid driver’s license,
The employee will receive half after completing 6 months of employment and the remaining half after 1 year of employment.
The School Based Mental Health (SBMH) Therapist position is responsible for counseling individuals or groups, developing and implementing a therapeutic treatment plan, and providing family support and education. The children who participate in this program are enrolled in counseling and treatment for behavioral issues. This position will be discussed in more depth during the interview.
Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
