Job summary

Casa Serena Congregate Living Inc in Yucaipa, CA, is seeking a reliable Cook/Diet Aide to prepare and serve meals according to physician-ordered/Registered Dietitian-recommended diets, ensuring safety and compliance with Title 22 standards.

The role supports medically complex residents in a small, team-oriented environment and offers a day-shift schedule. 7:30 am–2:30 pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

Experience in food service, healthcare, or similar setting preferred.
Familiarity with therapeutic and texture-modified diets strongly preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work independently in a small team environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and diet orders.
Follow and correctly implement therapeutic diets (ex: cardiac, diabetic, renal, mechanical soft, puree).
Ensure accurate tray setup and portioning per resident needs.
Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices.
Monitor and log food temperatures and storage compliance.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with Title 22 regulations.
Assist with inventory, stocking, and organization of food supplies.
Work collaboratively with nursing staff to support resident care.
Assist with light facility support tasks during downtime (non-laundry).
