Job summary

United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley is seeking a Dietary Assistant to join our growing team. You will support food service, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, while ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation and cleaning procedures in line with the facility menu.

Responsibilities include assisting the Registered Dietitian, updating diet changes, maintaining storage standards, preparing and plating meals per dietary cards, labeling perishables,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• CA Serv Safe and Food Handlers Certification.
• Ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
• Minimum of one year of experience in food service or preparation.
• Ability to work in a team environment within dietary and health care teams.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire; preferred at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Dietitian in provision of safe, therapeutic nutrition services.
• Update diet changes as directed by the Registered Dietitians.
• Maintain storage standards for vendor-prepared food.
• Prepare and plate food per dietary cards and special needs.
• Label and date perishable food and pack home delivery meals.
• Record inventory and place orders for replacements.
• Ensure hot food is delivered at proper temperatures per FDA standards.
• Measure and record food temperatures.
• Stock and rotate food using FIFO.
• Ensure sanitation in kitchen and dining areas.
• Support meal delivery and related activities as needed.
