Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Nutrition Services Aide to support therapeutic and modified diets for patients and prepare meals for staff and visitors. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nutrition services in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role involves interpreting recipes, portioning meals, and ensuring proper food safety and sanitation. Training in therapeutic diets is preferred, with opportunities for growth and benefits in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Possession of a food handler's permit or equivalent certification may be required.
• Experience with therapeutic diets and menu interpretation is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines and sanitation practices is desirable.
• Willingness to work on weekdays/weekends or evenings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperature for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret written recipes and follow orders and instructions.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble and deliver late patient trays, supplements, and special requests.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus and diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays to meet time tables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
