The role emphasizes patient engagement, respectful communication, and careful documentation of participation and responses, with duties including observation and reporting to clinicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• AVADE training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support therapeutic treatment by planning, organizing, and facilitating structured recreational, educational, and social activities in a psychiatric facility.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient engagement, emotional well-being, and recovery in a safe environment.
• Lead or co-facilitate group activities such as arts, crafts, games, exercise, music, and life skills.
• Encourage patient participation while respecting individual goals and abilities.
• Maintain a safe environment and report changes to the clinical team.
• Document attendance, participation, and responses according to facility policies.
