Job summary

Goodwin Living is seeking an individual to assist the Therapeutic Activities team by providing an ongoing program of therapeutic activities tailored to each resident’s needs. The role centers on documenting activities, reporting changes to nurses, and supporting program planning and execution.

The position requires experience in activities or recreation, strong English communication, and a patient, organized approach, with flexibility for irregular hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in activities or recreation.
• Read, write, and speak the English language.
• Ability to relate information concerning the resident.
• Must possess patience and have an understanding of conditions related to aging.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must be organized.
• Must be flexible, working irregular hours when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation as necessary per regulation requirements.
• Reports all accidents and incidents ASAP and notifies proper disciplines of occurrence.
• Reports all changes in resident condition to nurse during any activity.
• Assists with recreation and activity programs for residents, family members and staff in a timely manner.
• Participates in planning, implementing and completion of programs.
• Works alone to complete activity/program if necessary.
• Assist in publicizing programs, engaging speakers or performers.
• Assist with all aspects of the newsletter.
