Job summary

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Educator within the Theatres team to coordinate training for theatre and PACU staff, including non-registered staff, across the service. The role emphasises simulation-based teaching and systematic assessment of clinical skills.

The post holder will develop training resources, analyse data for service improvement, and support investigations following adverse incidents while promoting a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Develop and deliver core and additional clinical skills and training programmes across Theatre and PACU care settings, using mixed media and simulation.
• Deliver effective teaching and assess knowledge and competence of staff.
• Collect, evaluate and analyse data; write reports to initiate service improvement.
• Support investigations after adverse incidents and contribute to follow-up actions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise training equipment and book training dates/venues with colleagues.
• Develop learning packages and resources to support clinical skills acquisition.
• Deliver teaching across Theatre and PACU and across organisations.
• Assess knowledge and competence and provide feedback.
• Work across boundaries to develop multi-professional teaching and assessment processes.
