Job summary

University of La Verne is seeking a Theatre Technical Student Assistant to help with day-to-day operations of the Theatre Department and support stagecraft labs. This is an ongoing student position open to ULV students with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2026-2027 year.

Candidates should be familiar with theatre tools and techniques such as sewing, painting, carpentry, electrics, graphics, and related software or programming, and be prepared to assist in building and maintaining sets,

Qualifications

• Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Demonstrate familiarity with theatre tools and techniques (sewing, painting, drawing, carpentry, electrics, software, video, programming) via a recommendation letter.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for day-to-day operations of the Theatre Department.
• Support stagecraft labs and assist students with their work.
• Promote a safe work environment and keep the scene shop clean.
• Assist faculty with course-related tasks such as copying and filing.
• Assist with all areas of theatrical production including costumes, painting, building, and warehouse maintenance.
• Help facilitate stagecraft labs and work calls for scheduled builds of sets.
