Job summary

Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, California, seeks a Production Manager to deliver productions on schedule and within budgets. You will work closely with the Technical Director, artistic leadership, designers, stage managers, and production personnel to coordinate across departments.

The right candidate will have at least 3 years in professional theatrical production and strong scheduling, budgeting, and supervisory skills, with availability for evenings and weekends as production schedules

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional theatrical production experience.
• Experience in production management or coordination in professional theater.
• Ability to read technical drawings and design documentation.
• Proficiency with standard office software and scheduling tools.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as production schedules require.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and monitor production schedules from concept through close, across multiple productions.
• Build and manage production budgets, track spending, and flag variances.
• Coordinate across scenic, lighting, sound, costume, props, and stage management.
• Supervise production staff and manage day-to-day direction.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and invoices within authority.
• Serve as liaison between artistic leadership and production departments on timelines and resources.
• Anticipate production risks and escalate issues appropriately.
• Maintain accurate production documentation and post-production reports.
• Ensure production operations comply with safety and workplace regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
