Job summary

Laguna Playhouse, a nationally acclaimed non-profit theatre in Laguna Beach, California, is seeking a Company Manager to manage payroll, union compliance, travel, and housing for artists and crews.

You will serve as the backbone of artist operations, coordinating with artists, staff, and vendors, ensuring discretion, organization, and a calm, production-driven approach throughout the theatre season.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a professional theatre, performing arts organization, or comparable live entertainment environment.
• Previous experience as a Company Manager, Assistant Company Manager, or similar artist-services role is preferred.
• Knowledge of union contracts (SDC, LORT, USA, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly artist payroll and union benefits; process agency commissions.
• Maintain understanding of collective bargaining agreements (SDC, LORT, USA).
• Maintain company calendar with staff meetings, events, and office closures.
• Coordinate and submit travel, housing, and hospitality needs for show personnel and visiting artists.
• Support compliance with company policies and handle urgent artist needs outside regular hours.
