Job summary

Theatre Under the Stars seeks a Production Manager to lead and coordinate all production elements across its annual season, from pre-planning to load-in and final show execution. Reporting to the Associate Artistic Director, you will safeguard artistic vision, schedule, budgets, and safety while guiding designers, shop staff, and union crews.

Responsibilities

• Oversees execution of all production requirements across Theatre Under The Stars annual season.
• Supports education programs and mainstage productions with technical needs and scheduling.
• Manages labor calls (IATSE), bid processes, and vendor quotes to meet budget and quality goals.
• Coordinates with Designers, pre-planning, pre-production, load-in, and show needs, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintains production calendars and budgets for all stakeholders and creative teams.
• Tracks production expenses, participates in monthly reconciliation with Finance, and helps reforecast as needed.
• Ensures safety protocols and adherence to union and organizational policies across productions.
• Supervises production staff and provides leadership to Production Heads, Coordinators, and union reps as applicable.
• Supports Shop Manager and cross-departmental operations to maintain efficient, on-site production workflows.
