Job summary

Classic Cinemas York XQ Theatre is seeking a motivated, people-first, full-time Assistant Manager to lead the team, create memorable guest experiences, and keep theatre operations profitable.

The role requires organizing, planning, and controlling in-house theatre operations, with duties including scheduling, inventory, and on-site supervision. Strong communication and basic math/technical skills are valued. Shift coverage includes nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Management experience preferred.
• Basic math skills required.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Computer and projector experience helpful.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare / maintain a weekly employee schedule.
• Operate within this schedule to realize satisfactory performance and profit.
• Take weekly inventory of concession items and operating supplies.
• Perform basic repairs, report and write work orders for items beyond your ability.
• Enter and receive information through the computer.
• Interact with the public to promote and maintain patronage of the theatre, greet guests.
• Track passes.
• Ensure end of month paperwork is completed and turned in to the office on time.
• Provide on-the-job training for employees.
• Evaluate employee's performance.
• Verify payroll, bank deposits, receipts and disbursements and make daily deposits.
• Check maintenance and housekeeping.
• Assure quality and profitability of concession counter.
• Supervise staff on site.
• Upload and view movies.
• Maintain clean projectors and booths.
