Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine in Berwyn, PA is seeking a Theater Instructor to plan, organize, and deliver value-driven skill development programs for participants aged 1-18. You will lead music and theater classes, teaching acting, dance, music and performance skills while building confidence and creativity.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 4 years teaching specialized skills in theatre/arts.
• Experience planning and leading youth programs.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and leads activities, routines and games for all participants.
• Leads with enthusiasm and motivates participants in program.
• Keeps attendance rosters and program records up to date.
• Manages all equipment and maintains a safe environment.
• Communicates effectively with participants and parents.
• Promotes YMCA programs and referrals as appropriate.
• Ensures compliance with YMCA policies and procedures.

What You’ll Do

• Plans, organizes and leads specific activities, routines and/or games for all participants.
• Leads with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program.
• Organizes and maintains program records including, but not limited to: attendance records, rosters, etc.
• Manages all equipment.
• Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
• Communicates effectively and timely with program participants and parents.
• Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
• Promotes other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

• 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience in specialized skill
• Minimum of 4 years teaching specialized skill.
• Training and qualifications in the specialized instruction area
• Demonstrate advance knowledge of specialized skill
• Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
• Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
