Job summary

The John Gore Organization in Baltimore, MD is seeking a part-time Facilities Assistant to support day-to-day upkeep and live-event operations at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. Duties include light maintenance, event setup/breakdown, and safety inspections to keep venues welcoming for patrons, performers, and staff.

Ideal candidates will have general maintenance knowledge, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexibility for evenings and weekends in a live entertainment environment.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours.
• Prior experience in facilities, building maintenance, or event support preferred.
• Experience in performing arts or live events is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic building maintenance, including light repairs and seasonal tasks.
• Monitor and report facility issues requiring repair or vendor attention.
• Assist with set-up and breakdown for performances, private events, and meetings.
• Support custodial functions and conduct routine safety inspections.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of backstage and public spaces.
