Job summary

The John Gore Organization in Baltimore, MD is seeking a part-time Facilities Assistant to support day-to-day upkeep and live-event operations at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. Duties include light maintenance, event setup/breakdown, and safety inspections to keep venues welcoming for patrons, performers, and staff.

This part-time position assists with building maintenance, event set-ups, and routine inspections to ensure that all facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming for patrons, performers, and staff. The Facilities Assistant provides essential support to the Facilities team and other departments to keep operations running smoothly in a live entertainment environment.**Duties and Responsibilities**Maintenance & Upkeep* Perform basic building maintenance, including light repairs, bulb replacements, and seasonal tasks (e.g., snow removal, exterior upkeep).* Monitor and report facility issues requiring repair or vendor attention.* Maintain tools and supply inventory in an orderly fashion.Event & Operational Support* Assist with set-up and breakdown for performances, private events, and meetings, including moving furniture, equipment, tables, and signage.* Support custodial functions when needed (trash removal, light cleaning, restocking).* Conduct routine inspections of backstage and public spaces for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.**Competencies**To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:* **Cooperation** + Establishes and maintains effective relationships. + Offers assistance and support to co-workers. + Works cooperatively in group situations.* **Adaptability** + Adjusts effectively to shifting event and maintenance demands. + Modifies approach as circumstances change.* **Functional Competencies** + Demonstrates accuracy, reliability, and thoroughness in assigned tasks. + Uses tools and equipment safely and effectively.* **Team Orientation** + Fosters team cooperation. + Supports group problem solving.**Qualifications**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
