Shift Supervisor

Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime, paid only for hours worked): Hourly rate: $23.07

The Role

Under the general direction of the Operations Coordinator I, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the specific Shelter program systems to ensure security, safety, and efficiency of daily client services and activities. Responsibilities include supporting all client-scheduled services or activities, ensuring they are delivered as scheduled, and coordinating external appointments and program activities.

**Please Note: Candidates must have FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.**

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

• Supervise and monitor the environment to ensure guidelines are followed and relationships remain positive.
• Manage the daily program schedule of activities, ensuring events occur and participants attend.
• Supervise facility cleanliness, security, and safety practices.
• Conduct mandated fire drills and evacuations.
• Administer breathalyzer tests and observe urine specimen collection when indicated by program standards/policy.
• Conduct safety checks and room inspections to assess clients for substance use or unsafe conditions.
• Review scheduled client appointments and ensure timely dispatch of trips.
• Dispatch vehicles, ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Distribute carfare for external appointments.
• Review the appropriateness of appointment escorts.
• Comply with 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
• In the absence of Food Service staff, monitor kitchen and food preparations to ensure health code compliance.

Qualifications

Who You Will Be

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least two years of experience in Human Services, preferably in agencies delivering social services or treating substance use and/or homelessness.
• Must have FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems.
• Willingness to obtain CPR Certification.
• Willingness to obtain NYC Food Handler’s Certificate as needed.
• Available to work a flexible schedule based on participant and staff needs.
