The University of Idaho in Moscow is seeking a TH Manual Snow Removal Technician to join the Facilities Management team for the winter season.

Under the Campus Landscape Manager, you will shovel and operate snow blower, spread sand and salt, and help keep walkways safe during snow events.

This temporary on-call, part-time position runs Nov 23, 2026 through Apr 12, 2027 with shifts triggered by snow events.

• Work Schedule Summary: This position is a temporary on-call position only through the winter months of 2026-2027. Position will start November 23, 2026, and run through April 12, 2027. Call Out Hours are from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm during any given snow event at the University of Idaho. Hours are not guaranteed but determined by the amount of snow that falls this season and who on the call-out lists accepts or declines the call.

Position Summary

Working within a team environment and under the direction of the Campus Landscape Manager, the incumbent performs manual snow removal by shoveling and/or operating snow blower; distributing sand/salt to hardscapes which provides a safe environment for Faculty, Staff and Students during the winter months. Multiple positions being filled.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather with an assigned snow team member.

Preferred Qualifications

• Be punctual and have perseverance.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must be able to scoop, push, lift, throw or otherwise move snow loads weighing up to 25 pounds by shovel and/or operating snow blower for several hours at a time.
