Job summary

STV seeks a Staff Surveyor (RPLS) in Texas to support transportation, utility, municipal, and infrastructure projects across the state. You will work in a collaborative team, using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and software like Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson, and MicroStation to deliver accurate survey data.

Requirements include Texas licensure (or reciprocity), 2–5 years of relevant experience, and a degree in Surveying/Geomatics or related field.

Qualifications

• Licensed Texas land surveyor or able to obtain licensure via reciprocity.
• Degree in Surveying/Geomatics preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2–5 years of licensed professional survey experience in relevant sectors.
• Solid knowledge of survey principles, coordinate systems, field procedures.
• Experience with Trimble/office surveying software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support diverse survey projects including boundary, topo, ALTA/NSPS, ROW.
• Collect, process, and verify data using modern field gear and software.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and project records for deliverables.
• Import data and assist with deliverables using TBC, Civil 3D, Carlson, MicroStation.
• Assist with control establishment, layout, plats, easements, and ROW mapping.
• Perform QA/QC to ensure data meets project and client standards.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, CAD techs, and field crews to move projects forward.
• Promote safety and maintain high professional standards on site and in office.
