Job summary

STV is seeking a Staff Surveyor (RPLS) for our Texas team. The role offers flexibility to be based in any STV Texas office and focuses on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, utility, construction, route, and as-built surveys.

You will collect and verify data with GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and digital levels, then deliver high-quality records using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Licensed Texas RPLS or ability to obtain via reciprocity in a reasonable timeframe.
• 2–5 years of licensed surveying experience in transportation, municipal, utility, land development, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with survey principles, coordinate systems, field procedures, and data collection methods.

Responsibilities

• Support boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, right-of-way, utility, construction surveys for transportation, municipal, utility, and infrastructure projects.
• Collect, process, verify survey data using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, digital levels, data collectors.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, documentation, and project records for high-quality deliverables.
• Import field data and assist with deliverables using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, MicroStation.
• Help establish survey control, support construction layout, verify site conditions for active projects.
• Assist with plats, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, right-of-way mapping, and survey calculations.
• Perform quality checks to meet project requirements and STV standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, CAD technicians, field crews, and geospatial professionals.
• Promote safe work practices in field and office environments.
