Job summary

STV is seeking a Staff Surveyor (RPLS) to join our Texas survey team. This licensed professional will work on transportation, utility, municipal, and infrastructure projects, with opportunities to grow alongside engineers and project teams.

The role supports field data collection, office drafting, and QA, using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and MicroStation. Texas RPLS licensure or reciprocity is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for Texas RPLS licensure.
• Degree preferred in surveying or geomatics; equivalent experience considered.
• 2–5 years of licensed surveying experience in relevant sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide variety of survey assignments for transportation, municipal, utility, and infrastructure projects.
• Collect, process, and verify data using GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and digital levels.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and project records for high-quality deliverables.
• Import field data and assist with deliverables using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson Survey, and MicroStation.
• Assist with survey control, construction layout, and verifying site conditions.
• Support plats, easement exhibits, right-of-way mapping, and survey calculations.
• Perform quality checks to meet project requirements and STV standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, CAD technicians, field crews, and geospatial professionals to keep projects moving forward.
