Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Staff Surveyor (RPLS) to join our Texas team. The role offers flexibility to be based in any STV Texas office and focuses on transportation, utility, municipal, land development, and infrastructure projects with a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate holds a TX RPLS or REC, 2–5 years of licensed experience, and proficiency with GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and surveying software. The position includes a strong benefits package and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) licensed in Texas or able to obtain licensure via reciprocity.
• 2–5 years of licensed surveying experience in transportation, municipal, or infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of survey data collection, coordinate systems, and field procedures.
• Experience with GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, digital levels, and data collectors.
• Familiarity with Trimble, Civil 3D, Carlson, and MicroStation software.

Responsibilities

• Support boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, ROW, utility, construction, and route surveys.
• Collect, process, and verify survey data using modern equipment.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, and project records for high-quality deliverables.
• Import data and assist with deliverables using Trimble Business Center and related tools.
• Establish survey control and verify site conditions for active projects.
• Assist with plats, legal descriptions, and easement exhibits.
• Perform quality checks to meet project requirements and STV standards.
• Collaborate with project teams to keep work moving forward.
• Promote safe work practices in field and office environments.
