Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Texas is seeking a highly motivated Oil and Gas Title Attorney to join our client’s team in Texas. This full-time role provides expert title examinations, due diligence, and contract drafting for oil and gas transactions.

The ideal candidate has a JD, active license, at least three years drafting title opinions for Texas lands, and strong communication. Hybrid/remote work options are available, with a focus on ethical practice and client confidentiality.

Qualifications

• JD degree and active license required.
• At least three years drafting title opinions for Texas lands.
• Experience preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships.
• Strong commitment to ethics and client confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties.
• Analyze deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
• Draft title opinions identifying defects, liens, or issues affecting ownership.
• Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
• Provide legal guidance on risks and strategies for mitigating issues in transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts, ensuring legal compliance.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the industry.
• Collaborate with litigation attorneys when legal action is necessary.
• Work collaboratively with team members to execute complex legal transactions.
• Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
