Qualifications

• JD degree and active license to practice law in Texas.
• At least three years drafting title opinions for lands in Texas.
• Experience with oil and gas title examinations and related documents.

Responsibilities

• Oil & Gas Title Expertise: conduct title examinations to determine ownership.
• Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues impacting ownership.
• Conduct due diligence for oil and gas transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Provide guidance on legal risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate leases, joint operating agreements, and purchase agreements.
• Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with litigation attorneys if action is necessary.
• Work with team maintaining honesty, hard work, and trust to execute complex transactions.
• Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
• Pursue continuous learning opportunities.
• Support other activities as needed.
