Job summary

Anthropic in Texas is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to serve as the on-the-ground presence in data center markets. You will build relationships with local officials, community groups, and economic development partners, translating technical plans into local benefits and surfacing concerns early.

You will collaborate with Policy and Infrastructure teams, travel up to 50% within the region and possibly to other Anthropic markets, and help write scalable playbooks for community engagement

Qualifications

• Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, or related field.
• Direct experience engaging with local governments and community stakeholders on large infrastructure projects.
• Ability to build trusted coalitions across diverse stakeholders.
• Capacity to represent a company credibly in public settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication to translate complex plans into plain language.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements across markets while staying organized.
• Based in Texas or willing to relocate, with willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with local officials, agencies, and community groups.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for market sites.
• Build coalitions and host listening sessions to deliver local benefits.
• Represent Anthropic in public forums and local media.
• Monitor sentiment and advise on risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Infrastructure, Energy, and Sustainability teams to align projects with community input.
• Develop proactive, locally relevant messaging with Communications.
• Coordinate charitable giving and community investment in markets.
• Scale playbooks and processes for future markets.
