Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Community Engagement Manager in New York to serve as the local on-the-ground partner for Public Policy and Infrastructure. You will lead relationships with officials, organizations, and residents, align plans with local benefits, and drive engagement across multiple markets.

The role requires travel up to 50% of the time and a proven ability to translate technical plans into accessible local messaging while coordinating with policy, energy, and development teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, or related field.
• Direct experience engaging with local governments and community stakeholders on infrastructure projects.
• Strong relationship-building and trust with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to represent a company credibly in public settings (town halls, hearings, press).
• Excellent written and verbal communication translating complex plans to plain language.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, administrators, boards, and community partners in NY data center markets.
• Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each market from site selection to operations.
• Build external coalitions and host sessions to deliver local benefits.
• Represent Anthropic in public forums and local media.
• Monitor sentiment and advise on risks and opportunities; coordinate with Real Estate and Infrastructure teams.
