Job summary

Baker Law Group in Austin, Texas seeks an accomplished Texas civil litigator to serve as Managing Partner. This role builds an office, leads a team, and shapes the firm’s long-term Texas presence.

The candidate will supervise attorneys, maintain an active civil litigation caseload, and work with firm leadership to expand the Texas practice, ensuring exceptional client service and strategic growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience practicing in Texas with substantial civil litigation experience.
• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, mentor, or develop other attorneys and legal professionals.
• Experience independently managing complex matters and making sound strategic decisions.
• Excellent legal writing, research, analysis, negotiation, and courtroom skills.

Responsibilities

• Build the Austin office and establish the firm’s Texas hub.
• Lead, develop, and mentor attorneys to ensure excellent legal work and client care.
• Shape the team through hiring, onboarding, staffing, and workflow development.
• Set clear expectations for case strategy, deadlines, and ownership across the practice.
• Guide expansion by identifying opportunities and resources for growth in Texas.
• Collaborate with firm leadership, operations, marketing, and support staff to align growth with execution.
• Represent Baker Law Group and build credibility in the Austin legal and business communities.
