Job summary

Baker Law Group is seeking a Managing Partner for the Austin office to build and lead the Texas practice. You will supervise attorneys, manage an active civil litigation caseload, and collaborate with firm leadership to grow the Texas presence.

The role requires an established Texas attorney with leadership ability, a strong civil litigation background, and a strategic growth mindset to guide the office’s long-term success.

Qualifications

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• 8+ years of legal experience practicing in Texas, with substantial civil litigation experience.
• Strong command of Texas courts, rules, procedures, and local legal practice.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, mentor, or develop other attorneys and legal professionals.
• Experience independently managing complex matters and making sound strategic decisions.
• Excellent legal writing, research, analysis, negotiation, and courtroom skills.
• A practical, business-minded approach to client service, case management, and growth.

Responsibilities

• Build the Austin office and establish the firm's Texas hub.
• Lead and develop attorneys, mentoring and holding lawyers accountable.
• Shape the team through hiring, onboarding, staffing, and workflow.
• Set standards for case strategy, communication, deadlines, quality, and ownership.
• Guide expansion and identify opportunities and resources for growth.
• Collaborate across the firm with leadership, operations, marketing, and staff.
• Represent Baker Law Group and build credibility in the Austin community.
