Description du poste

This is a 100% Limited position for 5 months. This appointment may be extended or converted to career status based on the needs of the department.

DESCRIPTION

The Triton Testing Center (TTC) offers assessment administration services at multiple campus locations to support student access and success with integrity. The TTC works collaboratively with the Academic Integrity Office (AIO), the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD), and academic department instructors and staff to offer centralized, secure and proctored testing services for students across the campus including those who need to take their academic tests outside of the space and time constraints of the classroom (e.g., accommodated and make-up exams), and students enrolled in classes that use the TTC (the Computer-Based Testing Facility) as their primary testing service. The TTC is a critical university operation central to the university's teaching and learning mission, as well as its core principles of ethics and integrity.

The Testing Specialist, under the supervision of the Manager and work direction of the Assistant Manager, performs the administrative services of the academic paper and computer-based Triton Testing Center (TTC). The Specialist provides program support for the TTC, including complicated scheduling and planning, assessment advice to instructors, data and test processing, and general customer service. The Specialist is responsible for executing testing operations, sometimes when the Manager and Assistant Manager are present, but often when they are not. The Specialist must handle minor to moderately complex testing and technical issues, often without assistance. The Specialist is responsible for the testing environment, conditions, security of tests, and delivering accommodations as indicated, and supervises the student staff when the Manager and Assistant Manager are not present.

The TTC is open 8 am - 8 pm Monday-Friday and several Saturdays throughout the quarter. Our hours are 8:00am - 10:00pm during Finals Week. Therefore, to ensure full coverage, Testing Specialists usually do not have the typical 8:00am - 4:30pm schedule.

Possibilities include 8:00am - 4:30pm, 9:00am - 5:30pm or 12:00pm - 8:30pm Monday-Friday and variable hours on Saturdays.

Working more than 40 hours/week may also be required during peak times, such as during finals week. The ability to take vacations may be limited when the academic quarters are in session.

  • Solid knowledge of best practices for proctoring.
  • Self-directed, able to respond to changes of pace normal in a Testing Center, and committed to establishing and maintaining a collaborative and collegial environment
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to uphold high standards of test security and integrity.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
