Job summary

KYOCERA AVX Components Corporation in the United States seeks an electronics test technician to assemble and test products from NPI to EOL, ensure compliance with procedures, capture data, and pass or fail assemblies.

You will troubleshoot defects, lead RCCA, work with routings and data packs, perform ATP, solder/desolder as needed, and rotate across workstations. A BS in EET and IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred; U.S. citizenship required by ITAR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology required.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • IPC J-STD-001 Certification for soldering electrical and electronic assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily tasks with a small team and escalate risks and issues that could impact priorities within the production plan.
  • Perform regular inspections based on quality standards for tools, test setups, and equipment.
  • Set up and maintain test setups throughout the product production lifecycle.
  • Execute ATP during production and troubleshoot basic faults caused by manufacturing defects or testing environment.
  • Document test results and product data as required by the manufacturing router and EIDP.
  • Work with production/assembly instructions, parts lists, drawings, and instructions to assemble a wide range of products.

  • Work at different workstations as production needs require.
  • ITAR compliance requires U.S. citizenship.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Assemble and test manufactured electronic products starting at the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase to the End of Life (EOL). Ensure products are working exactly as intended and are free of defects or other issues. Execute test procedures per work instructions, capture test data and pass or fail the assembled product. You troubleshoot defects and lead the Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) process.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Coordinates daily tasks with a small team and escalates risks and issues that could impact priorities within the production plan.


  • Perform regular inspections based on the company’s defined quality standards for tools, test setups, and other miscellaneous equipment used in production.


  • Setup and maintain test setups throughout the product production lifecycle.


  • Execute product Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) during production and troubleshoot basic faults caused by manufacturing defects or testing environment.


  • Document test results and product data as required by the manufacturing router and End Item Data Packets (EIDP).


  • Work with production/assembly instructions, parts lists, drawings, and verbal instructions to assemble a wide assortment of products or components.


  • Solder and de-solder components / parts from the product at times will be required to assemble the final product or component.


  • Work at different workstations as production needs require.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRES A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY.



  • Strong math and computer skills are required.


  • IPC J-STD-001 Certification for “Requirements for Soldering Electrical and Electronic Assemblies, and additional module “Space Addendum”.


  • Ability to read and comprehend routers, test procedures, and schematics.


  • Ability to understand and communicate work packages, risks, issues, work instructions and policies/procedures.


  • Ability to recognize problems and perform advanced troubleshooting steps to identify manufacturing, design and/or testing defects.
