Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is hiring for a manufacturing technician role on a weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 6:00am-6:30pm) at the Daikin Applied – Faribault South facility. Starting wage is $34.93 per hour.

You will operate test stands, read schematics, use test software, document results, troubleshoot refrigerant/electric issues, and train new team members in safety and procedures. Great benefits include insurance and pension, with a climate-controlled facility.

Qualifications

• Lift, push and pull materials; stand for long shifts in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use hand tools for extended periods.
• Read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Diploma/GED or 2+ years in manufacturing/production environment.
• 2-year EPA HVAC/R certificate or equivalent approved by the company.

Responsibilities

• Operate test stands and adjust controls to meet specifications.
• Identify safe testing amperage/voltage.
• Read schematics and blueprints for assembly.
• Use computer test software effectively.
• Document tests promptly.
• Troubleshoot unit performance in electrical/refrigeration systems.
• Communicate test status to team and supervisors.
• Train new members on machines, safety, and quality procedures.
• Maintain 5S and safety program adherence.
• Read blueprints for fabrication and installation.

Your Responsibilities

• Connect and operate test stand unit and adjusts controls as necessary to meet specifications
• Ability to locate and identify the safe testing amperage and voltage
• Read schematics and blueprints to ensure proper assembly
• Ability to use computer test software effectively
• Complete required test documentation in a timely manner
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve unit performance abnormalities within electrical and refrigeration systems
• Communicate the status of the test process to team members and supervisors
• Effective use of specialized and basic tools necessary to complete test process
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
• Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area
• Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements.
• Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards
• Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements
• Ability to use hand tools
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks)
• All other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• 2-year trade school (EPA) certificate in A/C Refrigeration or equivalent education approved by company
